Physiotherapy treatments specifically for patients with haemophilia

Our Roche Haemophilia team - in consultation with healthcare professionals in South Africa that manage patients with Haemophilia, identified a need for video resources to support patients who have been prescribed physiotherapy.

Through our global affiliate network we learnt that Roche Canada and CPHC (Canadian Physiotherapists in Hemophilia Care) formed a partnership during the Covid pandemic, to develop a series of exercise videos to support haemophilia physiotherapists in providing care to patients in an online environment.

The goal of the project is to enhance patient care by offering physiotherapy exercise instruction remotely.

Please note: The exercises should be prescribed to patients by their physiotherapist or healthcare professional.

There are a total of 43 videos that have been created. The videos focus on:

    • the major joints and muscles
    • balance and proprioception
    • crutch walking and transfers
    • paediatric-specific videos

Each area of focus has 3 to 4 levels of progression.

Roche Products - South Africa has uploaded these videos to our YouTube page - to allow Haemophilia patients to view and download the prescribed treatment.
